A recent study showing the effectiveness of including psychologists in primary care done right here in BC!
This recent study conducted right here in BC showed that in less than three 30 minutes visits with a psychologist in primary care, patients had reductions in suicidality, depression, anxiety, & health care utilization across the subsequent 6 months. These incredible results demonstrate the feasibility and acceptability of integrating psychologists within primary care in British Columbia and the potential impacts that this could have on British Columbians’ mental and physical health, healthcare spending, and access to evidence-based psychological services in our province.
