Are you an experienced psychologist specializing in the care of abused or neglected children? Island Health is hiring a Clinical Child Psychologist.
As the Clinical Child Psychologist, you are responsible for the planning and delivery of psychological services to the program. You provide expert developmental and psychological assessments of children and their families referred to the SCAN program. You function as a clinical resource by advising and educating other health care professionals and agencies in the field of child abuse and neglect and deliver training and education. You act as a resource to health and child protection professionals of Vancouver Island.
This is a permanent part-time position located in Nanaimo, British Columbia.
The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree in clinical child psychology (or equivalent) and registration as a psychologist with the College of Psychologists of BC. Knowledge and advanced education in the field of child abuse and neglect is required, along with five years of previous experience working with infants, children and adolescents.
Experience with direct responsibility for the care of abused or neglected children, and experience in legal proceedings related to abused children is preferred.
