Community & Connection: BCPA's In-Person Board and Staff Meeting on June 6th

By Alejandra Silvera posted 3 days ago

For the first time since 2020, the British Columbia Psychological Association (BCPA) held an in-person board and staff meeting, as our dedicated team came together to brainstorm and shape our new strategic plan.

A Positive and Dynamic Atmosphere

The atmosphere throughout the meeting was incredibly positive and dynamic. After years of virtual meetings and remote interactions, the energy of being physically present was enjoyed by everyone.. This in-person connection allowed for spontaneous conversations, immediate feedback, and a renewed level of engagement.

Brainstorming for the Future

One of the main objectives of this meeting was to brainstorm ideas and develop a comprehensive strategic plan that will guide the BCPA from the second half of 2024 to 2026. The discussions were rich with insights and ideas, focusing on how we can better serve our members, particularly during the transition and post-amalgamation. We aimed to advance the field of psychology and address the evolving needs of the communities we serve.

Collaborative Spirit

The collaborative spirit of the meeting was truly inspiring. Board members and staff worked side by side, sharing their expertise and perspectives. This collective effort underscored the strength of our association and our shared commitment to advancing psychology in British Columbia.

Looking Ahead

As we move forward, the ideas and plans generated during this meeting will be refined and implemented, setting the course for the BCPA over the next few years. This plan will not only guide our initiatives, but also ensure we remain responsive to the needs of our members and our broader professional community.

Stay tuned for more updates on our strategic plan and upcoming initiatives. Together, we are building  a stronger, more connected BCPA.
