“Every child has the right to feel safe at all times.”

This fundamental belief is the foundation of Protective Behaviours (PB), an internationally recognized Prevention Education Program. It equips children with essential skills to recognize and respond to unsafe situations and behaviors, thereby safeguarding themselves from potential harm. The program provides adults with straightforward strategies, making it easier to impart critical life skills to children. PB revolves around two core themes:

We all have the right to feel safe at all times.

We can talk with someone about anything, no matter what it is.

PB was created with the goal of reducing violence. PB was created with the goal of reducing violence and abuse towards children. Peg West, Donna Fortin and Joan Levy founded the program in Wisconsin during the 1970’s.  The Program is now used extensively in Australia and throughout the UK by agencies including Social and Mental Health Services, Safeguarding Children Boards, Police, Schools, Children’s Homes, and Centres.
