The British Columbia Psychological Association is seeking a qualified candidate who is currently a Masters or PhD student in psychology, to stand for election to the Board for the 2024/2025 Board year.

     

Interested candidates are strongly encouraged to review the information below to understand eligibility and the time commitment.

   

Eligibility: 

  • You must be a student currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD psychology program with a recognized university in British Columbia.
  • You must be a current member of BCPA.

 

Term of Office: Board members are elected for a 2-year term.

 

Time Commitment: Service on the Board requires a time commitment, which includes attending monthly meetings, reviewing meeting materials, reading Board communications at least once per week, and participating in events, as needed. Board members should expect to spend 6-10 hours per month with Board activities.

Board meetings are held virtually on the second Monday of the month. There is one full-day, in-person Board retreat in June and travel expenses are reimbursed. There is no Board meeting in August.

Board members are also encouraged to participate in BCPA Committees and may do so based on their availability.

  • Statement of Intent (1000 words or less)
  • Your current CV/Resume (PDF)
  • Recent headshot (.jpeg or .png)
