The British Columbia Psychological Association is seeking qualified candidates to stand for election to the Board for the 2024/2025 year. The Board positions available are Director and Student Director.
Interested candidates are strongly encouraged to review the information below to understand eligibility and the time commitment.
Eligibility:
- You must be a current member of BCPA.
- Student Director: You must be a student currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD psychology program with a recognized university in British Columbia.
Term of Office: Board members are elected for a 2-year term.
Time Commitment: Service on the Board requires a time commitment, which includes attending monthly meetings, reviewing meeting materials, reading Board communications at least once per week, and participating in events, as needed. Board members should expect to spend 6-10 hours per month with Board activities.
Board meetings are held virtually on the second Monday of the month. There is one full-day, in-person Board retreat in June and travel expenses are reimbursed. There is no Board meeting in August.
Board members are also encouraged to participate in BCPA Committees and may do so based on their availability.
