Bio: Dr. Orzeck provides a range of clinical and counselling psychological services, including the treatment of a variety of mental health disorders, counselling common life struggles, formal psychological and psycho-educational testing, and diagnostic services. Dr. Orzeck also conducts psycho-educational workshops and seminars for various psychological issues.

With over 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. Orzeck uses a client-centered approach, adapting and integrating empirically-based and efficacious treatments to meet your unique and personalized needs. Such treatments include cognitive therapy, behavioural approaches, stress management, cognitive-behavioural treatment (CBT), interpersonal therapy (IPT), trauma-focused therapy, emotion-focused therapy, solution-focused therapy (SFT), and a range of counselling based approaches. Initial and ongoing assessment is conducted with treatment services.

Dr. Orzeck has particular specialties and research expertise in trauma and abuse, as well as in sport and performance psychology provided as part of her private practice. Integrating her Nationally Certified Coaching Program credentials (Comp-Dev/HP, Level 4/5), over 25 years of professional athletic coaching, sport science integration, and international competitive experience as a high performance/elite athlete, Dr. Orzeck conducts workshops and seminars for athletes and coaches on a range of sport psychology issues and integrating mental training techniques efficiently into everyday practice. In addition, she provides a full scope of psychological services to develop athletes for overall psychological and mental health. She regularly works with individual athletes from early levels of sport up to and including olympic level athletes working on sport performance and a range of psychological concerns for long-term development and overall wellness.

As a Registered Psychologist, services are often covered under extended health plans (BlueCross, Green Shield, SunLife, Manulife, etc.) with direct billing for select plans up to a maximum amount per year, as well as with other third parties and registered programs (Crime Victims Program, Veterans, RCMP, Canadian Forces, FNHA). Fees paid to a registered psychologist may be claimed as a non-refundable tax credit.

Fees for services follow the guidelines suggested by the British Columbia Psychological Association, currently set at $235 per 50 minutes for individual sessions. Fees for workshops, seminars, or group sessions are on a per contract basis. Comprehensive assessments and report writing (eg. psycho-educational, comprehensive psychological, clinical summaries, etc.) are a specialty service and typically range from $1175 - $4700 or by BCPA hourly rate, adjusted by the complexity, length and/or type of service requested.

Presently, Dr. Orzeck is available during a number of week day times, select evenings, and occasional weekends. She also offers virtual E-sessions using a secure e-counseling platform. Please contact our office for more information about any of these services.

**We have a temporary hold on new clients as we restructure, however we do continue to offer waitlist spots for new clients should an existing client be finishing or moving into a maintenance phase. Note that after school and evening times fill up months in advance. Virtual sessions and day availability are typically quicker to access.
