The British Columbia Psychological Association is seeking a qualified candidate who is currently a Masters or PhD student in psychology, to stand for election to the Board for the 2026-28 years.
Interested candidates are strongly encouraged to review the information below to understand eligibility and the time commitment.
Eligibility
You must be a BCPA member and currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD psychology program at a recognized university in British Columbia.
Term of Office
Board members are elected for a 2-year term.
Time Commitment
Service on the Board requires a time commitment, which includes attending monthly meetings, reviewing meeting materials, reading Board communications at least once per week, and participating in events, as needed. Board members should expect to spend 3-6 hours per month with Board activities
Board meetings are held virtually on the second Tuesday of the month. There is one full day, in-person Board retreat in May and travel expenses are reimbursed. There is no Board meeting in August.
Board members are also encouraged to participate in BCPA Committees and may do so based on their availability.
